Looking for pain relief after a long drive to and from work? Sitting in traffic can result in muscle tension, back pain, and mental stress. One of the best things you can do for your body when you get to your destination is stretch! Check out the below stretches for less pain and more relief after your commute.

Stretches for Pain Relief

Imagine not needing to start or end your work day feeling physically and mentally tense. Regularly stretching can help make this a reality. Try doing these 3 stretches after your commute to feel more relaxed across major tension points!

Lower Back Stretch

Sit upright with your shoulders back, and slowly rotate your shoulders to the left. Place your right hand on the outside of your left knee to further extend the stretch. Slowly come back to center, and then repeat on the right side with your left hand and right knee. Hold this stretch for 20-30 seconds on both sides.

Chest and Rotation Stretch

In a seated or standing position, interlock your fingers and reach up above your head. Gently push your hands and elbows backwards while taking in a few deep breaths. Hold this stretch for 20-30 seconds, repeating as needed.

Hips and Legs Stretch

In a seated position, place your left ankle on your right knee, creating a “four” with your legs. Place your left hand on your left knee and softly press down for 20-30 seconds while gently folding forward. Once complete, slowly release and then repeat with your right ankle and left knee.
